The Materials
Each portrait is drawn on premium archival paper using professional-grade graphite. I work in layers — light construction lines first, then building value and texture slowly, always by hand. There are no prints, no digital filters, no shortcuts.
The Process
- Reference study — I spend time with your photos and notes, getting to know the pet's personality before graphite touches paper.
- Construction — Light lines establish proportion and the all-important gaze.
- Building value — Tone and texture develop layer by layer, from soft shadows to crisp detail around the eyes and nose.
- Finishing — Final adjustments to contrast and detail, then the portrait is signed and prepared for shipping.
